See you on the other side.

I started this blog on tumblr. It looks fantastic but a lot of the features of wordpress are missing. I want both!!!

It was worth adding this one. The left character was coloured with various watercolour colours. The right one was coloured with blackwatercolours.

I like these ones. But perhaps shading is needed? I did some other B&W drawings some time ago, which I shaded in watercolours and then turned to grayscale. That worked fantastically. Plus, harder lines were good too.

Sour mood right now. It’s a little annoying. Have been having a lot of good creativity flow lately, so just ARGH to break the stride.

The concept of company is naturally of vital importance. And though I’m not accustomed to the state of being “between” partners, it’s hard to avoid spending, to some extend, some dinners in solitude. Indeed, “togetherness” should not be forced upon one another, to avoid strangulation of intimacy.

And so, I take it upon myself to narrate these treacherous waters.

Perhaps the first and most important vie to be dealt with, has to be the act of pre-occupation whilst dining. Certainly not appropriate in the company of others, it might seem as though multitasking is ideal, so as to lose focus on ones present state of lack of company. But what is important is learning to enjoy a table for one. Not ignoring it.

Instead, allow music to match the food as a good wine does. Lounge, jazz and classical are all ideal. Even modern up-beat and aggressive melodies can find their place with the right soup.

The next point of interest is the process of creation. Remember, as in all arts, it is not the product of the future that should be enjoyed, but the process of creation itself that should be the recipient of love.. If your mind is content in the present, then the future will be bright.

Next is decoration. While sexually, men might be more visually stimulated than women, all benefit from a visually gorgeous meal.

Make sure that the colours match, edges are clean (unless not intended) and that control is maintained on when foods touch and mix.

Finally: Illumination. The danes have a concept called “hygge”. The easiest way of translating it, would be to say it means warm, cozy and content. Such is easily achieved by ensuring that lighting supplements the colours of the food.

And remember, not all company is more desirable than solitude.

The Fall. That’s a smashing CD. Not dynasti ending, but if you’re opening a new café and need to set that you made a nest for hipsters: There, enjoy.

What I got out of High School was this: I scrutinize. It was actually in the title of my final essay (Scrutinizing Hayao Miyazaki). I only spend time with something that I’m really sure I will enjoy, then as though looking a graph, I can see my enjoyment dissapearing as I dig for short-comings. But I’ve still manage to keep my optimism about these games:

• Dragon Age: Origins is big and only for intelligent people who appreciate expansive lore, good acting and the feeling that even though a door is definitely foreverly locked, it still seems like there is SOMETHING behind it. Sure you can it enjoy it for other reasons, but these are the right ones.
• The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks, is big and stupid. But everybody can enjoy it. Enjoy it because it has a lot of fun tools to play with, like the rope-snake from the divine Mother 3 and a panflute that feels like a real instrument. Hate it because it’s flat, barren and has long boring train rides.
• DADIU, the Danish video game education that combine a freak-load of other Danish universities, actually made a good game. It has everything going for it. Combined with a harrowing tale of industrialization with an intelligent ending (think Babel), it could would become a masterpiece. It’s also browser based through the Unity engine, which is simply a fantastic idea.
• Does anyone else feel that they get a similar enjoyment through: video game sidequests, short stories from writers who’ve made larger works and small details that enrich a movie or book without been neccesary for the greater understanding?
• Mew’s No More Stories, Are Told Today, I’m Sorry, They Washed Away, No More Stories, The World is Grey, I’m Tired, Let’s Wash Away (LONGEST FUCKING TITLE EVER), is a fantastic album.  And unlike Ms. Jones’, it IS dynasty ending.

I love simplicity.

So anyway, PHEW! First semester of Japanstudies DONE! And it’s been awesome all the way. We finished by writing a history essay. I’m thinking of translating it to English and posting it on Canned Pixel, since found the subject really exciting.

After drawing it, I thought sort of summed up my life right now. Japan Studies continue to rock. And as you can see, I’m still drawing away. I also still contemplate comics. A short story about Guinness has especially been something that I’ve wanted to do.

I also started another blog with my girlfriend Xiao. It’s supposed to be less personal, and more about… well still random stuff, but if I want to write say… an article about something, then that would be the place I’d post it.
